DURBAN – Safe Cities is attending the upcoming Africa’s Travel Indaba in Durban, 9-11 May 2023 at Durban’s International Convention Centre

This valuable, award-winning initiative is boasting of collaborating with 120 SME’s and exhibitors and vital to the implementation of Durban’s tourism recovery plan to increase the City’s GDP. “Last year, the show drew over 5500 delegates to Durban, contributing a total of R102.6 million to the City’s GDP”, says Patricia de Lille, Minister of Tourism, in her address to the media. She says that earlier this year South Africa’s Tourism hosted a successful Meetings Africa in Johannesburg where 352 exhibitors were brought together from 22 African countries, and over 250 quality buyers from all over the world to experience the best business events, products and services that the continent has to offer. A lot changed during the COVID-19 pandemic, and it is necessary to reposition Africa’s Travel Indaba to ensure it remains relevant in the current environment.
Africa’s Travel Indaba is one of the largest tourism marketing events on the African calendar and one of the top three ‘must visit’ events of its kind on the global calendar.  It showcases the widest variety of Africa’s best tourism products and attracts international buyers and media from across the world. Africa’s Travel Indaba is owned by South African Tourism and organised by Synergy Business Events (Pty) Ltd.  Africa’s Travel Indaba has won the awards for Africa’s best travel and tourism show. This award was presented by the Association of World Travel Awards.
This year, the travel indaba is launched under the positioning “Shaping Africa’s tomorrow, through connection today”. This positioning speaks to the essence of Africa’s Travel
Indaba, bringing the world to Africa in an effort to positively influence the continent’s trajectory. There is also great collaboration with all airlines for this exciting event. South invites buyers globally to the warm shores of Africa, and an extraordinary tourism experience.
